Dark Chocolate Disaster
During the Christmas season a popular delicacy for sale is Brookside’s Dark Chocolate and Pomegranate treats. You can find them at Costco and other stores and I can tell you from experience that they are delicious.
Unfortunately, one of our customers recently left a bag of these goodies on a coffee table where the family pet discovered them and had a good time devouring the bag.
In case you didn’t know, dogs love chocolate!
They also get very sick when they eat chocolate.
Our customer’s precious pet got very sick that night and had chocolate disasters flowing out of both ends. The customer saw the disgusting mess and assumed her carpet was ruined.
How to Remove Chocolate from Carpet
Thankfully she called Heaven’s Best Carpet Cleaning Huntington Beach right away, and because the stain did not have time to fully bond with the carpet we were hopeful that we could remove the stain.
We started the cleaning process using our extractor to pull as much of the stain out of the carpet as possible. Only after we had finished the extraction did we saturate the stain with a cleaning solution geared for removing organic stains like chocolate and fruit juices. This is an error that homeowners commonly make. If an over-the-counter cleaning solution is poured or sprayed on a stain before it is extracted the stain spreads even further outward and downward into the carpet and pad.
When the cleaning solution had time for its enzymes to break up the stain, we used our cleaning machine to remove the solution and the stain. We were able to remove all of the chocolate and pomegranate and our customers was extremely grateful that we had saved her from disaster.
When you have your next carpet stain disaster in Huntington Beach, Irvine or Newport Beach, CA, be sure to call the experts at Heaven’s Best Carpet Cleaning Huntington Beach as soon as possible and we will do our best to save the day for you too.
